Built something at work this week that actually saved people's time.
We had vehicles quietly going past their MOT dates on our fleet. The kind of issue that only surfaces when it becomes someone's urgent problem.
Manual checking wasn't cutting it. Too many vehicles, not enough time.
So I wrote a Python script that hits the DVLA MOT History API and bulk-checks the entire site fleet in one go. Every vehicle. Every MOT date. Exported to a report. Done.
Took an afternoon to build. Already caught several vehicles before they became someone else's problem.
This is the part I genuinely enjoy — spotting an operational gap and closing it with code. The solution doesn't have to be complex. It just has to work.
